ABOUT TAPPING

Emotional Freedom Technique (or EFT/tapping for short) is a form of emotional counselling which combines aspects of acupuncture (without the use of needles) and cognitive therapies to neutralise negative feelings surrounding concerns and issues in a client's life.
The effects are usually quickly acquired and permanent.
The aims of practitioner-led tapping are to identify and clarify the main points of emotional turmoil affecting the client, to teach the client how to effectively self-tap on these issues and test the effectiveness of the tapping afterwards. This usually takes between 3 and 6 sessions.

WHAT KIND OF ISSUES CAN TAPPING BE USED FOR?

Tapping has been successfully used to treat people with symptoms of emotional distress such as anxiety, stress, post traumatic stress disorder and insomnia. It works on negative beliefs and their associated feelings, as well as cravings. It can also be used to diminish the emotional response to physical pain, thus making the pain more endurable.

ABOUT ALISON

Alison is a certified EFT practitioner, as well as a secondary science teacher. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Health and previously worked as a district environmental health officer.
"My introduction to EFT came in 2010, about a month after being diagnosed with major depression, prescribed antidepressants and having 6 weeks off work. My employer's HR lady sent me to see a wonderful EFT practitioner, who set me on the road to complete mental recovery. I was pill-free within 6 months and have been practising EFT regularly since that time. I can honestly say that EFT saved me! I undertook the practitioners certification course, in order to be able to share the benefits of this amazing method of balancing our emotions."
